Therapy for Men

You Were Never Meant to Carry It All Alone

You’ve been told to man up, tough it out, and get it done…

But where has that left you?

What if strength also looks like asking better questions? What if courage means not hiding behind anger, settling for numbness, harboring resentment, or managing burnout?

If you’re ready to feel more grounded, more connected, and more proud of the man you’re becoming—we can help with that.

Every Man Is Becoming—No Matter His Age

Maybe you're a teenager feeling lost and overwhelmed, a young man trying to find your footing in this chaotic world, a father buried under responsibilities and obligations, or someone nearing the second half of life wondering what it was all for. Wherever you are in the arc of becoming, this is a place to come home to yourself.

At Praxis, We Help Boys Become Men—

and Men Become Whole.

WE BELIEVE THAT…

Masculinity isn't a performance. Rather, it's a purpose driven process. And to be clear, to be purposeful is not to be goal oriented. To be purposeful is to seek to reconnect to the source of one's life, and discover authentic ways of bringing that source into the every day experience.

BUT HOW DID WE GET SO

DISCONNECTED IN THE FIRST PLACE?

You’ve done everything that was asked of you.

You worked hard. You kept your emotions in check. You played the part. Maybe you’ve got the career, the house, the relationship—or maybe you’re still grinding, still trying to figure it out.

Yet you feel empty, joyless, and disconnected from yourself and the people that matter most to you. Something isn’t clicking. You feel stuck, like you’re carrying a weight you can’t name, quietly wondering:

Is this all there is?

For a lot of men, the pain isn’t loud or in your face.

It’s low-grade, steady, buried. A mixture of anxiety, frustration, disconnection, and quiet shame. You might not even call it pain—maybe just numbness, or the sense that you’re drifting through someone else’s life.

Maybe you’ve stopped talking to your friends. Or maybe you never really had real ones to begin with.

Sure, you’re successful in some ways, but something inside feels hollow.

The drive that used to push you now just wears you down.

You’re tired of hustling for a version of manhood that doesn’t feel like you.

And still, the question lingers:

Who am I becoming,

and is it really me?

Few Men Were Ever Given a Map

The truth is, we’re living in the wake of a cultural script that failed to prepare men for an emotionally complex world. From a young age, boys are often nudged—explicitly or implicitly—toward a hard-hearted toughness, extreme self-reliance, and achievement as the benchmarks of worth.

Vulnerability is sidelined. Emotional fluency is rarely modeled. And seeking help is framed as weakness.

Who believe they only have value if they can produce.

Our systems—educational, familial, and social—often fail to provide boys and young men with the support they need to grow into healthy, grounded adults.

-Richard Reeves [1]

As A Result?

We Are Generations of Men…

Navigating adulthood with emotional toolkits built for survival, not connection.

Who are lost in the changing seas of expectations and cultural norms.

So it makes sense if now, as an adult, you:

  • Struggle to connect meaningfully with others

  • Don’t know how to slow down without crashing

  • Find yourself angry, reactive, or shut down

  • Feel isolated even around people you love

You’re not broken. You’re responding to a system that didn’t prepare you for the inner life.

Therapy for Men Isn’t About Fixing You. It’s About Reclaiming You.

At Praxis, we don’t believe that therapy is about offering a "safe space" to “sit with.” No, that’s too easy and not effective. Instead, we offer a brave space—a place where you have the option to confront your story, to reconnect with your values, and to start living on purpose. Our work is relational, grounded in sound theory, and process-oriented. We’re not here to pathologize you. We’re here to help you find your footing.

You’ll work with a therapist who understands men’s emotional lives—not just academically, but personally. Someone who is actively engaging in their own journey of masculinity, and who can confidently walk alongside you as you:

  • Name and release the pressure that’s been quietly building for years

  • Learn to express emotion without shame or shutdown

  • Build real friendships and deepen the relationships you already have

  • Clarify your purpose and take ownership of the life you want

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Too many men carry silent pain. We see this in the data: The suicide rate among males in 2023 was approximately four times higher than the rate among females. Males make up 50% of the population but nearly 80% of completed suicide attempts[2].

This is a crisis of loneliness and a societal failure.

We believe that healing starts when that silence is broken—not through forced vulnerability, but through honest, intentional reflection-a deep dive into the depths of life in the presence of someone who can relate and provide perspective.
