Sam Kemp, AMFT
Therapist at Praxis | Therapy for Couples, Fathers & Ministry Leaders
Helping Couples Reconnect, Fathers Stay Grounded, and Leaders Carry Less Alone
There are seasons of life when the weight becomes difficult to hold. A relationship grows tense or distant. Fatherhood brings love and meaning, but also pressure and exhaustion. Leadership can become isolating when others depend on your strength while your own inner life feels neglected.
Therapy offers a place to slow down, tell the truth about what is happening, and begin moving toward greater steadiness, connection, and clarity.
I work with couples, fathers, ministry leaders, and individuals seeking healing, stronger relationships, and a healthier way of carrying life’s responsibilities.

My Counseling Philosophy
I believe healing happens in relationships.
Many of our wounds are formed through pain, disconnection, unhealthy systems, or the absence of being truly known. Because of that, growth often begins when we experience honesty, safety, and care in a new way.
Therapy is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about naming reality, understanding patterns, grieving what has been lost, and building healthier ways of living and relating.
My approach is relational, practical, and compassionate. I aim to create a space where clients feel both supported and challenged as they move toward meaningful change.
A Little More About Me…
Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly a decade in pastoral ministry serving adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. That season shaped my understanding of both the beauty and complexity of people, faith, leadership, and relationships.
Outside the office, I love being outdoors, meaningful conversations with close friends, good coffee, and spending time with my family. I am a husband and father, and those roles continue to shape both my life and my work.
